hi all so previously i was just casting to my TV with its built in Miracast , and was not able to get to it setting or anything, so i went out and bought this Microsoft 4k Wireless Display Adapter , it works great it instantly let me chose a 4 k resolution with extend this display device, and i was able to play my games on my HDTV , works great. but one question it uses my wifi and has to be plugged into the tv HDMI port and the TV usb port for power. So should i leave it plugged in 24/7 or unplug it when not in use? what would you all recommend thanks much and god bless.

If you're going to use it regularly I would leave it plugged in. Treat it as you would any other electronic device. Since it's drawing power from the TV, I would protect both devices by having the TV plugged into a good surge protector.

I use one of the MS "units" to bring my old Bedroom TV up to Wireless specs so I can use my Laptop in the bedroom occasionally without having Wires trailing. I do not disconnect the unit from either the HDMI or USB and have not seen any downsides in doing this.

Your TV may have a setting to turn off the power to the USB port when the TV is off.
