With Windows update KB5094126 multiple users are reporting OneDrive integration failures where the application becomes inaccessible through Windows Explorer after installation, though web-based access remains functional. Searching the Internet one can find several suggestions such as reinstalling OneDrive, running ‘OneDrive.exe /reset’, or various registry edits; none of which seems to fix the behavior.

If anyone has information as to when this will be fixed with a patch, please share. Since this particular KB does potentially have some beneficial improvements.

The only fix that currently seems to work is to uninstall the problem update, and configure Windows Update to not re-install in future updates.

Uninstall Update KB5094126
  1. Press Windows Key + I to open your Windows Settings.
  2. Go to Windows Update > Update History.
  3. Scroll down and click Uninstall updates.
  4. Find KB5094126 in the list, click Uninstall, and restart your PC.
Hide Update KB5094126 from Windows

1. Download Microsoft Windows Update Hide Utility – wushowhide.diagcab
2. Run utility and find KB5094126 to be hidden from future updates.

Welcome to the forum. FYI Hiding a monthly cumulative after uninstalling it won't stop the code within the cumulative that broke your onedrive from coming back. It will be part of the next month's cumulative (unless MS acknowledges there is a problem and fixes it before then). IMO pausing updates would be a better solution until there is a fix.

I thought wushowhide.diagcab tool had been deprecated.

It is deprecated. That's why it's not longer listed for download, and you have to "know" the legacy URL.
But it still works.

I agree, rolling back and stopping updates is a stopgap measure. MS will either fix the issue in a future update, or release a newer OneDrive client. The latter is probably easier for MS since they don't have to wait for the next scheduled update.

Thanks for the tips. Pausing the updates can only be done for 5 week intervals, is that correct? Hopefully, this will be fixed by that time?

It's still useful if you wanna skip updates for example.

In my case I prefer to install BIOS updates manually and from the manufacturer, instead of letting Microsoft push their own update. I had a really bad experience letting them handle that for me... I always hide firmware updates unless I'm ready to install those (like with CA 2023 case...)

Thanks for the tip regarding the registry entry "FlightSettingsMaxPauseDays". FYI, setting it to 20 years maybe a bit excessive, but set it myself to 1 year (i.e. dword:0000016d) worked great.

In this update, KB5094126, I do not like the changes to the start menu. Is there anyway to modify this so that all of that crap at the bottom of the start menu is not there?

Since I removed KB5094126 due to the problem noted above can't really comment. Though you may want to consider something like Stardocks Start 11 addon for a few bucks to give you lots more control over the Start Menu.

Microsoft might have removed the link on their site, but you can download the Windows Update Show/Hide Tool from Major Geeks:

Contrary to what Microsoft had written on their site, that it works only for old versions of Windows 10, such as v1803, I can verify it still works on all versions of Windows 10, including 22H2 and on all versions of Windows 11, from 21H2 to 25H2. However, I have seen some cases that it displays an error that cannot scan for updates or similar. For these rare cases you can use Windows Automatic Updates Manager (aka WAU Manager), also available at Major Geeks:

Probably you can restore the Registry keys or use some Vive Tool commands. However, you can also check if that can be easier done with Winaero Tweaker or Explorer Patcher. There are other threads giving more details. I use Explorer Patcher for other reasons, along with Open Shell , so I enjoy Windows 7 style start menu and I don't care about recent changes.
