Some programs start with disabled sound

My browser (Firefox) and mail client (Outlook) always start with sound disabled, and I have to go to Mixer to enable the sound each time. At the same time, sound works in other programs just well.

Have you checked in your Firefox settings?

Under Privacy and Security>>Permissions>>Autoplay, there is a default setting at the top for audio and video for all websites.

Are you going into Windows Settings -> Sound -> Volume Mixer and then goto the Apps section?
