Hi mate.

I am not 100% clear on this but I believe Option One was edited to Repair Install Windows 11 via Windows Update. I am not sure if it is now only available to insiders?
But clarification needed.

Your BIOS sounds like it's extremely buggy! But, yes, Pinnacle Ridge is supported. Also, you need to disable CSM. In your case, you possibly need to wipe the OS SSD and clean-install 11, after disabling CSM.

Being a B450, the BIOS is extremely likely to be grossly outdated!

That only happens if there is a mismatch between the edition you have on your PC and that of the ISO you use for the in-place upgrade. Either the languages don't match, or the ISO is for a lower major build number build than the 22631 that you have on the PC. It's also possible that your UUPdump ISO may not include the N edition that you require. UUPdump doesn't include it by default, when choosing the download you have to tick a box to include it.

You should have no such problem if you try the 23H2 ISO you got from Microsoft.

Thank you ! You gave me the clue. No problem with the N edition. But I suddenly remembered something essential:
I was an Insider during some years and I decided to stop the insider program 10 months ago. I think insider Builds and "normal" Builds are not compatible. So I have to make a fresh install.

CSM is OK but I can disable it. It seems without CSM, RUFUS has some problem.

Concerning my BIOS, I update it when a new version is available. Mine is 4604 (9 April, 2024).

And Yes ! B450 is outdated but I have a good AMD CPU (with AIO water cooling) that works very well for my needs (I only play at Path of Exile and Diablo III, sometime IV, I upload each week medical data from my insulin pump and my daughter's insulin pump to an online secured database and create reports, and basics stuff like office. I make a lot of scripting in PowerShell and I create many virtual machines with Hyper-V and Citrix, and all work great), and, honestly, I don't need to spend tons of euros for a new CPU (AMD or INTEL), a new MOBO and certainly new RAM.

I just received today my new B450 MOBO (ASROCK B450 STEEL LEGEND) and I wait for the TPM device. All stuff for less than 100 euros (less than ~95$) for my birthday.

That was the case for quite some time, but that feature has now made its way into the RTM 23H2 build. I first spotted it back in April.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to lid hinges starting to break up this laptop has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

    Info for 2021-2026:
    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    My SYSTEM SIX is a Dell Latitude 5550, Core Ultra 7 165H, 64GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, supported device, Windows 11 Pro 24H2, Hyper-V host machine. Updated to 25H2 on 30th September 2025.

Same here when I took a computer out of the Win10 Insider, required full reinstall of Win10 to put it back in service.

I thing you confused things when you left the Windows Insider Program.

ASUS released a BIOS for your motherboard back in Aug 2021 that by default made it compatible with Windows 11:
ASUS TUF B450-PLUS GAMING BIOS 3205 | Version 3205 10.65 MB 2021/08/05
Support Windows 11 by default, no settings changes required in the UEFI BIOS.

It is not the age of your motherboard. I have an ASUS Prime X370-Pro that I bought in Feb 2017. It also received a BIOS update in Aug 2021 to make it compatible with Windows 11:

Support Windows 11 by default, no settings changes required in the UEFI BIOS.

No matter because I had already made the necessary changes. I upgraded the CPU from an Ryzen 7 1700X to a Ryzen 7 3700X in Oct 2021 to make it fully compatible with Windows 11. In Nov I upgraded from Win 10 Pro to Win 11 Pro with no problems. I didn't like Win 11 so I went back to Win 10. Last fall I decided to try again and upgraded from Win 10 Pro to Win 11 Pro. Again no problems.

I confirmed my diagnostic. I tried an inplace installation with a 24H2 build and with an Insider build. And I can select "Keep personal file and applications".
What a mess.

It is not the age of your motherboard. I have an ASUS Prime X370-Pro that I bought in Feb 2017. It also received a BIOS update in Aug 2021 to make it compatible with Windows 11:
PRIME X370-PRO BIOS 5606 | Version 5606 10.56 MB 2021/08/09

No matter because I had already made the necessary changes. I upgraded the CPU from an Ryzen 7 1700X to a Ryzen 7 3700X in Oct 2021 to make it fully compatible with Windows 11. In Nov I upgraded from Win 10 Pro to Win 11 Pro with no problems. I didn't like Win 11 so I went back to Win 10. Last fall I decided to try again and upgraded from Win 10 Pro to Win 11 Pro. Again no problems.

I tried to downgrade my BIOS but I didn't take so earlier version. I will try tonight. Thank you. That will not fix my "invisible insider tag" build version but it can help.

If you can use a 26100.xxx Release Preview ISO, then you will be on the 24H2 build that is going to become the RTM release build. Even without being enrolled with Insiders it should get the Patch Tuesday CUs, and when 24H2 is officially released you'll be back on the RTM public builds, just like everyone else.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to lid hinges starting to break up this laptop has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

    Info for 2021-2026:
    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    My SYSTEM FOUR was a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e (1st gen) type 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device. This has now been sold. It has been replaced by my System Eight.

    My SYSTEM FIVE is a Dell Latitude 3190 2-in-1, Pentium Silver N5030, 8GB RAM, 1TB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro, plus Insider Beta, Dev, and Canary builds (and a few others) as a native boot .vhdx.

    My SYSTEM SIX is a Dell Latitude 5550, Core Ultra 7 165H, 64GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, supported device, Windows 11 Pro 24H2, Hyper-V host machine. Updated to 25H2 on 30th September 2025.

    My SYSTEM SEVEN is a Lenovo Thinkpad T580, Intel Core i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD + 2nd 512GB NVMe SSD, a supported device for Windows 11. This is my current general purpose 'main machine'. The installed Windows 11 Home from my System One has been migrated to this machine.

You don't need to downgrade the version. Every version since 3205 does the same thing. That is, the default settings are what Windows 11 requires. However, Even older BIOSs are OK if you manually make the required changes.

You need to set it up for UEFI-only in Rufus. Rufus does not do this automatically.
