Anyone had luck changing the startup sound?
I changed ExcludeFromCPL to 0 under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\EventLabels\WindowsLogon then selected a new sound for WindowsLogon in sound settings but the default sound still plays.
I then tried renaming the Windows Logon.wav located in windows/media to some other name then placing the .wav file I was using in Windows 10 into windows/media and renaming it to Windows Logon.wav but still the default sound plays at startup.

The startup sound is different than the logon sound.

You could use the same method in the tutorial below if you wanted to change the startup sound in Windows 11.
