Good afternoon ,

I am really puzzled with stereo mix on windows 11 - it is setup and enabled , I have speakers connected by 3.5mm jack in rear of PC. Everything looks like it should be working fine , but when you go to sounds there is no readout to show any input being received by stereo mix and it records silence in sound recorder - even though it is set as default recording device ....

I have tried everything I can think of , any pointers or advice will be gratefully received thanks

thanks for the prompt reply - I hadn't even checked that as I have used it ok with windows 7 and 10 on some elder lower spec devices we have . Do you think that could be the case ? - I have not noticed any other issues.

I don't know it for a fact, just that if something is not meeting specs there could be unknown issues come up.

How strange , I think the spec is showing differently to that I entered my spec is: Dell T3620 with Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6500 CPU @ 3.20GHz 3.19 GHz , may still be not good enough or could be that it has on board sound....

That Core i5-6500 is a 6th Generation but according to the list needs to be an 8th. I have a Core i7-7440 that won't meet the specs.

What type keyboard, one with multi-media controls? Maybe the issue is with it's keys.

Thanks for the ideas and feedback , I think you are correct with the ALC3861 , yes 100% level ,do you think it might be worth investing in a sensible sound card ?
