Is stereo mix is a window component or realtek company related. I tried to pass the audio thro, my display port, which supports both video and audio, to get digital experience thro the default speakers.
I have cirrus logic speakers from dell company, and also the dell inspiron desktop, which supports display port and my display is connected to the monitor through the display port.
can i get stereo mix, if i download realtek audio drivers and install them, by uninstallilng cirrus logic drivers
if it is a window component, then it should be possible to show and enable it, but it is not showing at all to enable.
and no device is showing in playback except default speakers.
please give sollution

I have connected my monitor with cpu with display port connecting cable connection. Then it carries both video and sound i presume. Then a named digital audio device should be shown in the playback tab in sound settings. But there was only one speakers listed in the playback tab, even by selecting show disabled and disconnected devices in the record and playback tabs.
My presumption is that the sound that i get from the speakers do not routed through the digital audio device from the display port and hence only analog sound. is my presumption correct
where the device has gone. I am having the cirrus sound card and cirrus logic speakers as playback in the concerned computer.
Whereas in a older system, which is connected by the hdmi, and which had realtek sound card, the digital audio device is shown and i could see , the stereo mix and enabled the digital device to get the real sound experience from it .
i think i made it clear to the forum .

Stereo mix is a facility established by audio drivers.
It is provided by some drivers but not others.
It has become less commonplace since the advent of Windows 10.

There is no way of knowing in advance.

You really have audio card drivers provided by the maker of your speakers?
Please post a screenshot of Device manager showing both the entry within its Device manager section & the driver tab of the device's properties.

Get your manufacturer's audio drivers, that will enable the Stereo Mix bit, default Windows drivers never include that for some reason.
Probably from your OEM's webpage you are able to get them using your PC model.

You can get Stereo Mix on Windows by selecting both "View Disabled Devices" and "View Disconnected Devices" options in Settings > System > Sounds . Enable this, and the Realtek "Stereo Mix" shows up in the Recording tab. Initially Realtek "Stereo Mix" is disabled and needs re-enabling. Here is how:

Works on my Windows 11 on the Realtek audio device.

there is a catch in your reply iko. on the realtek audio device.
So, if you have realtek audio speaker, then you can have the stereo mix. is it
i have cirrus logic speaker as my audio device and hence may not show, even if i enabled disabled devices in record tab or playback tab . is it not
could you say this
If i am connecting my stereo realtek speakers to the required system, then can i have the stereo mix shown in the using system.
please reply and sorry for late reply

I'm not sure I understand. If you connect any speaker to the computer, then you are connecting it directly to your Audio Device (Realtek), unless your speakers have it's own built-in DAC (Digital-to-Analogue converter). If the latter is true, then the new DAC should show up in Device Manager.

If you have cirrus logic speaker, then which model? If you can find out, then we can go and look to see if it has it's own DAC.
