Do you know any other trick to make it works on Windows 7?
I tried this one that you suggested, but it didn't run on Windows 7.

I can open and view WebP images using Windows Photo Viewer, but I'm looking for a slide show viewer.

You can open .webp files in MSPaint and save them in another format such as .png.
Many normal slideshow viewers should then be able to handle them.

Yes, I know that I can convert images. But the point is about a slide show.

I usually save and grab web pages with hundred of images each page. And I'd like just to take a look and search for some specific image.
It's not useful to convert all and delete all, few seconds later.

Windows Photo Viewer can open them. Goal is just to see the next, and the next, in the same action.
For now, I have to open each one separately by time...

I have no issue doing that, have one image in a folder open then click one of the arrows at bottom to go through the list. Or am I missing something?

Those that don't load usually involve an issue with the file association, check if the troublesome file can use Open with and pick a program. But don't rule out file corruption.

If you must save a webp or what ever just open in free gimp and file/ export and name it and add .png at the end and you're done.
Otherwise if an image shows webp I just screen capture or snipping tool the buzzard ...

I just saved a webp image from the internet... I can right click it and choose Open with... PAINT works fine. :D

Ok, guys, WebP is done, it works fine.
But how to do the same with .avif images?
Windows Photo Viewer is unable to hand that files.

Attached an example.
Please, rename it removing extension .zip.
I had to put this way because the forum system didn't recognize it and refused to attach it.

Also, here is the same image online. Its format is Avif.

Yeah, one of the best open source image viewers. Unfortunately, the main dev changed jobs - and didn't seem to have any time to spare (or the desire) - to work on this project anymore. Since it's open source - they can still make a fork (the project can be picked-up and maintained by others) - but they seem to struggle to find devs...

Especially for windows (the remaining 2 are Linux and Mac users, thus - the lack of updates for Windows). After all - there's 0 financial gains - other than praise/acknowledgement - they don't get anything from working on open source projects (well, if it's a worthy project - it can help with landing jobs as a dev - a proof of capabilities - if you will). So hey, its future its uncertain. Still good enough as it is - but there's still room for improvements. 🤷‍♂️

Walmart has a lot of people not working very hard, doing nothing, or not showing up. They have some good ones, but generally their work discipline / attitude is zero.
