Stop failed optional feature from being attempted continuously

Hi folks
I tried to install openssh-server from the extra optional features -- it failed but Windows regularly tries to install again and keeps reporting failure --is there any way to disable a failed request from continuing to install without stopping all further updates. (Not particularly specific to W11 though I suspect).

Agreed WSL2 works .

Although I haven't done any real testing as I'm on a VM. Really this needs to be on "Real Hardware" otherwise you need to ensure HYPER-V services available and that means if already in a VM you enable "Nested VM" facilities.

I'll be "test driving" that stuff over the weekend on a physical machine.

@johnlgalt Have you tried this yet in a VM - as I said you need to enable "Nested VM" facilities. Just curious as to whether you've tried it that way and whether it it works -- not worried about performance at this stage - I'll have a go on a Real machine over the weekend.

For Linux Hosts and nested VM's

(if Intel CPU change amd to intel in the command)



Nested VM's don't always have to have hideous performance BTW.

Not sure what you need to do on Windows under HYPER-V to allow Nested VM's though - must be something similar.
