Solved strange problem with monitor wake up by moving mouse SAMSUNG 32-Inch Odyssey G50D Series

Ok, I uninstalled the AMD Adrenalin software and now I'm not having that problem. Must have been something in that.

….OK.

It’s good if one mentions all these things when asking for help.
When I mention settings, noting that you have AMD software running could be helpful. It would have been the first thing I mentioned to inspect or uninstall.

Glad it’s working for you though (y)

I'm going to install again, since it has a lot easier adjustments. I have trouble trying to push little buttons under the front of the monitor. But if I can't get the software to work I'll uninstall again. Then, I'll start saving for a graphics card. Thanks verry much for your help! (y)

After turning other pc on, I can conclude the monitor is fine. With the old, dedicated graphics card the problem never occurred. It's the AMD Adrenalin software for the Ryzen AMD 5700G within my processor in the other pc, that's at fault. It puts out decent quality picture I'll just have to reboot after monitor auto turn off. Or, shut it down when getting off the pc for a while. I'm going to keep searching the Adrenalin software just incase I just need to change a setting to cure the problem. After getting monitor paid off, I'll get a dedicated graphics card for this pc. I want to thank everyone for their help on this situation! :-)

I had a similar experience once when I had my monitor connected to an external KVM switch. If you are using such a device, connect your monitor directly to your graphics port and test.

Thought I would post the solution to my original problem. In the AMD Adrenalin 25.5.1 version software, there is a display setting called Color depth. I had to change from 8 bpc to 6 bpc. If set at 8 or 10, waking from mouse movement, caused the dim display I was getting until rebooting. Hopefully, this might help someone else sometime! :-)

That seems random.

The display uses 8bit (24 bit) color.

I'm guessing the Adrenalin software won't handle the 8 or 10 bit to match the monitor. Now, my keyboard is going out. this is crazy!

The AMD drivers won't support 8 bit color? That seems highly unlikely.

This probably has nothing to do with it, but how does the monitor appear in Device Manager?

Have you used this? (Monitor drivers, I suppose.)

I use a wired keyboard and mouse.

I'm going to try to get a graphics card next month. This isn't bad but the old graphics card in the other pc is a little better though. So a newer model card ought to make a notable difference. The old card will default to 60hz refresh even these graphics handle 180hz refresh at max resolution.
