Yeah. Either way, it'll be a good read. We can all vicariously make the attempt, with you.
I know for a fact there's other peeps with Chromebooks on here.
They may benefit or have suggestions if you get stuck somewhere.

"Experiment" threads are like 1950's sci-fi movies. Where the small town whatever (doctor, scientist, land owner, cool guy), battles the huge hairy whatever (alien, irradiated creature, mad scientist, etc).
We'll have our popcorn, and be right there with you... cheering you on. :-)

Just upgraded this am to 11 pro on a PC which wont pass for 3 things, UEFI, CPU and TPM

Was very easy and quick. I downloaded win11 install using media creation tool, mounted by clicking ISO file. Copied all files to folder on desktop. In sources folder, deleted appraiserres.dll Ran the setup, told it NOT to check for updates. It is all working so far. Found the method in this video

As to WHY Microsoft made Windows 11 requirements the way they are... only Microsoft knows for sure.
The whole internet has been guessing since Windows 11 1st came out. There are tons of guesses out there.

I think MS is planning on turning Windows into either a subscription OS, or a cloud Service.
If either of these is true, it would be to their advantage to get everyone on the same page... hardware wise.
That way, they will have far fewer tech support nightmares to deal with.

Keep in mind, "we" are not their main customer. Large companies are the demographic MS cares about.

But that's just the "guess' I think sounds the most accurate.
If you ask ten people what they think is going on... you'll probably get ten different answers.
