Hi,

Can system fonts be changed from the default, if yes care to explain?

Thanks.
Use WinAero. Free and Safe windows customization software. Tons of people use it. Plus all you have to do is download a zip file loaded with Windows fonts, unzip it, Ctrl + A to highlight all the fonts and just drag and drop them into to font sectionin windows 10 settings in the font section. I know i didnt explain that the best but the one method given here works but it a longer way around. I have a zip file with like 10,000 fonts for windows.

Windows 11 Pro. Version 22H2, Build 22623.891
OK, old thread with a new question.
Using MS Word and trying to select different fonts is a real PINTA for me!
I would like to remove about 80% of the available font from the list and from my computer.
I have tried several suggestions but the selected fonts remained.
I'm sure I am not the only one wanting to delete unused fonts so I am asking the ElevenForum for help.

Thank you.

Rather than Delete might try the Hide on the right-click context menu. Some Fonts are required for Windows.

Tried that, all it does is dim the font name in the list. Delete a highlighted font does nothing.

I switched back to W10 for awhile. However, when I had W11 I also had a Default Font problem. The font had lines through them, especially the letters R and P. I decided to search W10 Tutorials and Brink created a Regedit that worked great in W11. Most likely both operating systems use the Segoe Font.

Here is the link. Good luck!

Sorry, I am not having a problem with default fonts in W-11, I am trying to delete unused fonts so my choices in various app, such as MS Word are not a mile long. I rarely use more than six different ones so having to scroll through a long list is very annoying.

Thank you.

Did you know that you can type the first letter of "anything" in a scrolling-list and it will stop at the first word that begins with that letter. Therefore, open your font in Word, click the first "A" font then press the the key on your keyboard that has the first letter of the font you want to use.

This is true of many scrolling-menus in Windows, not just Office. ;-)

I've found 'Advanced System Font Changer' by WinTools useful for changing the system font size and type.
