Solved System Protection Continues Creating Backups While Disabled

So I've left it for a day as I've had other things on, but using that reg file above as mentioned to disable System Protection was actually still making back ups. Today I checked Event Viewer for codes 8222, 8224 & 8231 and found these. Although I can't find what is making these backup requests. I'm still monitoring this.

I've been monitoring this since the last post, I believe this is what is triggering the system restore points., System Protection is off as I don't use it but it still continues to make back ups for no reason. It seems a taskhostw.exe is calling up followed by svhost and services. Any clue in how to stop this.

Turn the max disk usage to 0 as a workaround?
320MB is minimum, but that should basically prevent most restore points.
Code:
vssadmin Resize ShadowStorage /For=C: /On=C: /Maxsize=320MB
schtasks /Change /TN "Microsoft\Windows\SystemRestore\SR" /Disable
reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\SystemRestore" /v "DisableSR" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f
They should be also removed beforehand, but this command also clears previous file versions and some other "important" stuff.
Code:
vssadmin delete shadows /for=c: /all /quiet

I'm still having issues with this, with all applied above it still making backups!. When I set it to 320MB it successfully does, but then it resets itself back to 2% 9GB. I cannot find what is causing this, I haven't' removed or installed any new software, to the fact I've been working on and off the PC last couple of days. I would like to find out what's calling VSS to make the backups.

As you believe System Restore points are being created, does System Restore actually list any timed and dated restore points?

You show reports of
Volume Shadow Copy Service information: Snapshot creation initiated
- and this may not necessarily be related to System Restore.

A VSS snapshot is a point-in-time copy of your files or volumes. This message indicates a backup, System Restore, or synchronization task has begun. VSS safely freezes active Input/Output (I/O) processes, takes a snapshot, and then lets applications resume, allowing you to back up open files without interruption
I see screenshots of space usage, but nothing to show actual restore points. May have missed it.. (this is from Win 10 as I'm using that presently)

I used this command above to add a reg key,

reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\SystemRestore" /v "DisableSR" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f

Also I disabled VSS; temp to see what would happen which it did nothing, but with that reg applied I can't configure, create restore points. I don't have a clue what's causing all this, I uninstalled my backup software, repaired windows via Win Update also.

i would be careful here as the last time i fully disabled system restore using that registry entry Windows update failed and i ended up with a very broken system and had to re-install Windows as the system went into a continued loop restarting after the update. so please tread with care here please.

i believe Windows update makes a system restore point automatically and if it fails to create that restore point the update could fail
which happened to me but it failed after restarting the system to apply the update, hence the reboot loop.
best of luck Steve ..

I finally found the issue that took a while!. While going though System in the Recovery tab I came across this Point-in-Time restore open. When I clicked on it it brings up a little window with some settings. After turning off Point-In-Time restore and removing that last lot of backups. My PC hasn't since made anymore new backups phew!. Is this a fairly new option that overrides the original System Restore?

I finally found the issue that took a while!. While going though System in the Recovery tab I came across this Point-in-Time restore open. When I clicked on it it brings up a little window with some settings. After turning off Point-In-Time restore and removing that last lot of backups. My PC hasn't since made anymore new backups phew!. Is this a fairly new option that overrides the original System Restore?
Ah I forgot that recent feature addition which obviously would create a shadow copy. Glad you got it straightened out.
