    YA! This the old backup. In case things go south. It'll give me access to everything I need.
I tried it on Linux. Very good for a VibeCoded Task Manager. Shows a lot of info in a really convenient way. Uses quite a lot of resources though, maybe exactly for the same reason, information "overload".

Oh so it is a Linux specific thing. I see. Good he's working on it. It might be the QT6 lib or something else...I don't know.

yes at the moment the resources problems/overload is Linux only
remember this is still in beta for all OS's Windows, Linux, Mac
i beleive the main work at this time is being done for the Windows version
with work also being done on the Linux and Mac versions ported over.

but this is Dave, he will get it right and i have no doubt in short order.

Looks good but to view processes details nothing can beat the Sysinternals Process Explorer.

Indeed, I never liked apps that try to do everything rather than to focus on what they should do.
Mostly, it lacks portable version, so it is unusable for technicians and it that glow makes me sick.
In comparison System Informer offers VirusTotal & Hybrid Analysis, that makes it valuable to me.

The Linux version is portable. It was actually the only version I got working there because he uses the latest QT6 libs, which my distro lacks. Not sure about the others yet.

The bloom can be turned off. Dave just loves neon and LED lights...

Good to know, looking forward to test it out, once it gets portable on Windows. All in one might not to be bad, if it is done right.

Good utility.

Sysinternals Process Explorer is our go to...

Nothing compelling about the Dave Plummer version to make a switch.

It's whatever works for your use cases.

It is not a replacement of anything. It's a Vibe Code experiment with more power than normal Windows Task Manager and multi OS support.

That is like Settings vs Control Panel, Control Panel will always work, because it does just that.
Settings is a scripted nightmare, you disable something like a service or a feature and it crashes.
So better is subjective, while it might display more and perform better, it might be too dependant.

I just have one real opinion that i wrote in the other thread.
Add a function to switch/toggle between over-flashy graphics to basic graphics to lower the resource consumption on low end machines.
That freaking program in linux used 40% cpu power on default settings, and with all the tweaks i got it down to 16% cpu usage.
Bad programming of you create a program that demands four times the hardware performance then the OS itself.... its not a 3D first person shooter game we talking about... but a taskmanager.
