I cannot work out why my taskbar icons are not combining. They are set to do that. But they just won't. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

I do have start11 installed but I uninstalled it and it made no difference.

Thanks in advance.

I might be that you pinned the same application on the Taskbar more than once. Right-click and select Unpin from Taskbar to see what happens.

Thanks but no, I haven't doen that. In fact this along with system tray icons not loadign that are set to load and jumo lists not populating when set to do so, I am begining to wonder what is going on with Win 11.

If you are using any customization utility that affects the Taskbar, such as Explorer Patcher or Open Shell or whatever, it might be misbehaving. Try downloading the latest version and install it, even if it is the same, to make an in-place upgrade/repair. Or better, uninstall it, restart and reinstall it.

Apologies. This was a setting in Start11. (Let Start 11 Enhance the TaskBar) Unchecking this and buttons combine a set in Windows.
