Taskbar search appears then disappears before I can use it

I try a search and it just does a zip snaps uo and drops out of sight and thats it, then later it works then again the same thing.

??? Try do a search in what? What’s a zip, an archive? What drops out of sight?
You’re going to have to be a little more detailed with your issue, possibly? If possible?

I cant make any sense of your description. "Does a zip", you mean it creates an archive?

Sorry it's hard to explain at bottom of my Opera browser screen is a place to search, when i try is just quickly "zips" (snaps up and back down out of sight) later it works correctly.
not a real great problem but when i want to search and it happens i am unhappy.

Have you properly searched the settings in the Opera browser to make sure nothing unwanted is checked/set?

What happens when you use the keyboard keys shortcut “Cntrl + F”?

Have you updated Opera? If so, have you tried removing it and then re-installing it?
(I don’t use Opera, sorry @snapshot 2022)

My mistake its not the Opera browser the search place is in the Microsoft bottom screen bar where the installed program icons are shown, so it has to be something in Win 11 because its not happening on my computer with Win 10.

As a suggestion. Click on the report button below your first post. Ask nicely if they could change the title of your thread to:

I feel the best thing is for me is to take my problems I think is with Microsoft Win 11, to the Microsoft forum.
I thank everyone on this forum for there help.

I wish you luck. But I think changing the title of this thread would help you. In my experience, the help offered here is more superior to that of the Microsoft forums. Also, many of the MVP’s that answer in there, are members here.

You must do what feels right for you, but consider my suggestion.

Sometimes it could take them time to get to change your title, sometimes they just might not agree to do it perhaps?
At any rate this thread isn’t going anywhere and someone might see it and be able to help. There is noting stopping you from posting on the MS forums as well though?

Also, in your next post, or in your System Specs where it says OS, add your Windows version and build. To get this, type winver into the windows search bar… if it stays open long enough for you to do so.

For instance, my Windows version/build is Windows 11 Pro 23H2 Build 22631.2506

I have been trying to find Info on my Ver of windows on this new system but have not been able.

You open the search bar for windows and type winver. It will open a box that has the information. But you are having problems with search, so it could be a problem. Try pressing the Windows logo key + R, type winver in the Open box, and then select OK. See if that makes any difference.
Otherwise, go into settings/system/about
