Windows 11, Fedora, Ubuntu, Zorin and Mint Linux's
On my laptop I replaced the W11 task bar with a replacement taskbar app. I had it on my PC as well, but I had to replace w11 with a previous image and that replacement taskbar wasn't in that backup image as W11 was backed up before I put the replacement in. Is there a way to identify the taskbar replacement on my laptop so I can re-install it on the PC? I forgot what it was called, but it works great.

Assuming you "installed" it... it should be in Program Files or Program Files (x86).
Just look through there till you find it.
When you see the name, you'll remember.

And, because you filled out your computer specs... you get ten cookies. :-)

Yeah tried that, but nothing rang a a bell. I also checked in "'Add / Remove" and no luck there. i'll just keep looking for it. Maybe it's not available any more. Thanks for the help

All you have to do is look in your all apps list on the laptop. It should be there and probably one of those.

So it’s on your laptyop but you don’t remember the name
It’s not familiar in add/remove (odd)

Do you remember if it was an .exe you ran or a registry edit?
You checked your downloads folder to see if it’s still there from when you installed it?
If it’s possibly not an .exe then also look for a .reg file

Also check the startup folders and look in Task Manager & Task Scheduler to see if anything pops out

Download Revo Uninstaller Free and look in there to see if it shows.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. I'll head on over in to my lappy W11 after a bit and check them out. On the name / exe; no can't remember; jeez when did 11 come out; so it wasn't much after that as not at all pleased with the 11 taskbar.

I think I have found it thanks to Revo uninstaller. It is called "Explorer Patcher" by a company called Valinet Solutions SRL.
Thanks Antspants. So I've downloade Explorer Patcher and will try it on my PC later. Ahhh jeez I just opened "Add Remove" and it was there to. My "senior's moments" are getting to frequent.:(

Good to hear that you identified it. Very popular app in this forum.

Like you said, you installed it back when Windows Eleven sprung it’s head up. Don’t be too hard on yourself.

There’d be a lot of changes in that app now, update it on your laptop and add it to your PC. The older version might not be acting as it should be.

@allanpen , apparently you can right click the taskbar, choose "Properties", then "Updates"

Thanks; I missed that; however I don't think I would have recognized it. It was so long ago that I installed it and had forgoten the app name. It was only by looking at apps to remove that gave me a clue; memory isn't what it used to be; neither is my bladder:D
