Taskbars - Windows 10 vs Windows 11

This has been driving me nuts. On my main computer I was running the latest version of Windows 10. I ran a solid black taskbar. No transparency. The taskbar was a good solid true black color with crisp, detailed icons. Then I upgraded to Windows 11 after enrolling in the Insider Program. On Windows 11 I use the same settings. Call me crazy, but on 11 the black is not as black as it should be and the icons are not as crisp and detailed. I have all the latest drivers for my hardware and all the Windows Updates. Has anyone else noticed this? Or is it just my eyes? Running Windows 11, version 21H2, build 22000.168.

Is your Graphics driver designed for Windows 11 If not then the colour/black levels rendition could be off slightly

Also as the colour we see is perceptual rather than fixed. it is affected by the other colours in an image, to check this ensure that the wallpaper is the same on Win10 and Win 11 preferably a mid grey

I do a lot of image processing so use a device, [Spyderx Pro], to set colour to specific industry standard even then I find that the colours I see vary during the day and as the image changes (either a wallpaper or the image I'm working on)

[I am not suggesting that you need to use a similar device just explaining that colours change depending on external factors ]

As the Windows 11 is still in development there will be differences in some items from those in Windows 10 you could use the reporting tool in the insiders to let Microsoft know of your issues which may already be known or unique to your setup

Yeah I just rechecked all my Intel video drivers and it looks like I have all the latest. For the time being I will just put up with it as I love using 11 and hope they refine it before it gets to the final release. And I could just be my eyes, I know I need glasses. Besides, reverting to 10 would take time I don't have at the moment.

On a side note, is there a way to enlarge the font of the clock in the taskbar? I have the system text turned up to 125% but it does not affect the clock font size.

Not that I know of at present, a lot of users have mentioned this, often as a fault, Microsoft have yet to respond as far as I know - hopefully Microsoft or a 3rd party will add a resize option by release
