Once again, MS Store refuses to install an app, this time it's MS Teams. It's the generic error "Something happened on our end." I've managed to install it via the winget app but it seems that's the "work or school" version that won't work with my account. Should I even bother with the Store version at this point, or just get the installer from the official site?

I'd just get the installer from the official site unless you want to troubleshoot the error in MS Store. You might want to do both, though, as the MS Store issue could persist.

You can try repairing the Store. Go to App > Installed Apps > Microsoft Store. Click on the three dots to the right. Select "Advanced Options". Scroll down and select "Repair". If that doesn't work, you can try "Reset."

I tried all those things but in the end it wouldn't let me use it because I don't have a school or work account. What?
And there's at least two different versions of the offline/non-Store installer and both give me that error.

Just a thought have you signed up first (top right) then installed Teams for home or small business.

This is another thing I kept running into when I tried to sign up/in despite already being signed in to Microsoft. Baffling.

However, re-enabling the Chat button and clicking "get started" got it working.
Disabled it again and tested Teams itself, seems to be working fine now. Thanks! Now I don't have to struggle with getting connected for my medical classes!
