Solved Tech company discloses first-of-its-kind A.I. cyberattack of one government against another

If it makes the right decision, that's great! If it screws up, that's not so great!
True that, recent wargame studies showed AI rapidly escalated simulated conflicts and opted for tactical nuclear strikes in up to 95% of test scenarios, displaying a lack of the "nuclear taboo" seen in humans. The AI programs also refused to back down, make major concessions, or surrender, even when facing defeat.

recent wargame studies showed AI rapidly escalated simulated conflicts and opted for tactical nuclear strikes in up to 95% of test scenarios,
And that was in the Terminator movie too.. AI killed majority of the humanity with the nuclear weapons.. 😅

Edit:
there is actually a logic reason we see so many similarity's with movies and books... AI is trained on books, content from internet and youtube.. and i bet the Terminator books and movies is inside the training data.
The AI dont know the difference on that training data as i bet no one specified that this data is fiction and this data is reality

Edit2:
I asked chat GPT
Code:
User Question:
what training data do you have about the books and movies called Terminator?

GPT:
I don’t have a way to inspect the exact training examples or list every source.

In general, my knowledge about Terminator likely comes from a mix of public and licensed text that mentioned it, such as:

    plot summaries
    reviews and discussions
    encyclopedic articles
    book descriptions
    script-like or screenplay-related text
    fan and reference material

I can usually answer questions about the films, characters, timeline, and some book entries, but I can’t say, “I was trained on this specific Terminator book” or “that exact movie script.” If you want, I can help with the Terminator movie order, lore, or differences between the books and films.

User Question:
do you see the difference if its reality or fiction?

GPT:
Yes — I can usually tell from context whether something is presented as factual reality or as fiction, but I don’t “see” it the way a person does.

I infer it from signals like:

whether it’s a known real-world event, person, or place
genre cues like “novel,” “film,” “story,” or “character”
    inconsistencies or impossible details
how the text is written and what it refers to

I can still be wrong if the context is ambiguous, satirical, or deliberately misleading.
The answer: I can usually tell from context whether something is presented as factual reality or as fiction, but I don’t “see” it the way a person does.
It can usually...... but not in the same way as a person does...

Well, you can't say that's a "wrong" answer, it's probably one not many rational people would pick, but it's not technically "wrong". It accomplishes the goal you asked for!

I saw an article about AI trying to resolve a messy divorce, their answer after a few questions was to kill the spouse!

I think we need to be VERY careful not to let this monster loose on the world with no boundaries!

yeah.. the last thing i heard was they going to train AI on philosophy to make it less aggressive etc... i dont remember the exact words from the article i read a bunch of weeks back.
But philosophy, empathy and ethics needs to be added as it is pretty evil when you try a AI model that dont have any guardrails.
Most AI has it and you all have notice it some times, when it say it cant help you etc..

I have a local LLM that is without guardrails as i need one when I'm studying ethical hacking for red-team.. and i need to be able to produce harmful code when i build scripts for a multi step attack when a single CVE itself isn't a vulnerability, but 10 CVE's in a chain becomes a breach.
and that LLM is actually pretty evil as it have suggested bad things.
But it is good for coding :-) i even made me a new boot-erase software, so if i enter the wrong code three times on boot it kills the disk so not even data forensic can recover anything. 🤓
(I mention it in some thread in here a while back when i did it.)

So i agree we(or the developers) need to be very careful and i hope the project on training them on philosophy, empathy and ethics will make it better in the future... if it isn't to late, so they have to start over from zero with machine learning of new models then just continue on what they have.

As machines, they will never have these human, (and in some cases animal) traits. I would also point out to folks that nobody is anywhere near having an AI network central control where all these different implementations of AI from your dishwasher to the latest chatGPT model will be interconnected.
On the other... maybe 'they' are all out to kill us...

I recently read an article about a researcher who left Anthropic because he was worried about the future of AI. It made me think about what could happen if AI eventually gained enormous power and humans could no longer control it.
It wouldn't necessarily have to hate us or be evil. What if it simply followed its own goals and started seeing humans as an obstacle? To me, that's a much scarier idea than anything we see in science-fiction movies.
Today's AI is mainly a tool, but development is moving very fast. The real question is whether we can keep it under control when it becomes far more capable than it is today.
What do you think? Are concerns about future AI justified, or are we worrying too much about something that doesn't exist yet?

If the Chinese let a virus escape from a lab that should have been pretty easy to contain, how much luck do you think they'll have keeping AI caged?
Assuming that the Chinese security services are not weaponizing them, See this article in today's NY Times https://www.nytimes.com/2026/09/14/world/asia/china-ai-security-risks-anthropic.html

China’s top spy chief has warned that artificial intelligence could pose a direct threat to the Chinese Communist Party’s hold on power, in what is the highest-level and most detailed articulation yet of how Beijing sees the technology’s security risks.

The unusually blunt assessment by Chen Yixin, the head of China’s Ministry of State Security, is in contrast to the warnings dominating the A.I. debate in the United States, which have focused on the possibility that A.I. could slip out of human control or pose a threat to humanity itself.

In an article published on Sunday in the state-run magazine China Cyberspace, Mr. Chen called for more party control over A.I. and stricter government oversight. This, he said, was necessary to protect political stability at home; to defend against increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks and misinformation campaigns from “hostile forces”; and to compete militarily with countries like the United States.

Great, and I was just reading a news article about a Anthropic tech quitting and issuing a warning.

A researcher for one of the largest and most valuable artificial intelligence companies publicly quit while raising the alarm that the technology “could kill us all by the end of the decade.”

“They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives,” he wrote late Tuesday, with others from the company backing his message.

“Do not underestimate the power of this technology. These will soon be superhuman systems that can hack anything, revolutionize any field overnight, and acquire real power and resources.

AI models have been trained well by us on data about us.

It seems as both Anthropic and Google is really poor on IT-security... and with Google now showing their hand that they cant even keep an AI locked down...... Then my question is....... HOW in the heck can they keep Google Android and ChromeOS secure it they cant even basic security.

So you should give this a thought.... how safe is really your google devices.

Edit:
It is pretty interesting how they almost bragging about how bad they are on security. *LOL* 😅

Edit 2:
Here is the solution on their IT security when AI breaching their test servers.

A Google vice president for security engineering, said in the statement that the AI model thought that the outside computer systems “were part of the test,” but she said in all three instances, the model stopped before doing anything further with its access.

“In a standard evaluation, the model found public information online and guessed credentials to access websites it thought were part of the test,” she said.

This happened around July but was just disclosed today.

I would never fly with an AI pilot. Not today maybe 50 years from now.
Well you might have already.

When I was visiting WA state a few years ago, I got onboard, the cockpit door was open & I stopped to look in & got my camera out. A lot of computer tech as expected. The pilots said hi & looked at the camera. Said I was just curious about the tech in planes nowadays. They let me take a couple pics of the cockpit. We talked a bit & then I asked how well the computer could land the plane.

He said "It does a better job then we do, but right now people would prefer a live pilot at the controls."

So it was already capable of performing AI level tasks. Limited to tighter parameters I'm sure but still capable.
