The main advantage of the TeraByte program(test TeraByte v.3.64) is that it does NOT modify the Registry, and it can make an "almost" perfect Windows system backup, i.e. a complete digital copy of your Windows system disks.
For Windows 7, the digital copy is 100% true to the original.
For Windows 10, there is only 1 byte in the file "C:\Windows\bootstat.dat " it has been changed, but it can be easily fixed if you save the original of this file in the archive.
Other well-known backup programs(Acronis, AOMEI, Macrium) they can't do that because they change Windows Registry files.
Macrium is at the last place in this list, because it modifies Registry files even BEFORE the backup operation begins.

I am using Image for Windows on my wife’s pc. Excellent backup software. Very reliable.
In the first place, I chose it because Image for Dos has rendered me excellent service for almost 20 years on my old laptop running on Windows 7 Professional.

TeraByte Drive Image Backup And Restore Suite comes bundled with many applications and options. Too many features to mention.
It's very reliable and excellent value.

Macrium does make a perfect image backup. It uses windows volume shadow services, which do copy-on-write. Once the backup is started, a snapshot in time of the partitions (including registry files) you are backing up is created and maintained during the duration of the backup. I am sure other backup systems use the same mechanism - they have to if they are backing up a running system.

I find Macrium super fast. It takes me 35 seconds to backup my nvme system disk and recovery partition to another nvme disk. This is with 128 bit encryption and compression. The resultant file is around 40GB.

Internal SSD to SSD is very quick with any image backup application.

My laptop has two internal SSDs, and backups are lightning fast with Macrium Reflect, TeraByte Image For Windows and Drive Snapshot.

Off topic, but just so were are talking apples to apples, I backup with compression and 128 bit encryption. It takes 26 seconds for me, without the verification pass, to backup a system image of about 65GB in size. Anyhow, version 10 of Reflect sped it up immensely by using the CPU instructions available for encryption and compression, so the speed you get depends on the CPU speed when doing encryption and compression.

I basically have a button on my taskbar to initiate a backup so there is no hesitation to make a backup at anytime.

The sheer restoration speed bedazzles me. I am going to consider it as fiction if it goes any faster than that.

Terabyte is good backup software, used it a while back before Macrium , still have a lifetime license (yet another perk over Macrium) , I might just re-install, update it and give a run and see how it performs because my last backup using Macrium wasn't all that fast.

I've probably done more than one hundred Image For Windows restores over the years without a single failure.
I prefer Windows PE boot media over Windows RE.

This is TBWinPE on one of my computers with TBLauncher in focus.
TBLauncher has some handy tools.

My TBWinRE looks the same. As I understand it, TBWinPE requires downloads (Windows A[DI]K) to set up, and the only difference is that it lets you choose the underlying WIM instead of using the WinRE on the system you're building the recovery media on.

Yes. The only drawback of PE boot media is the initial one time download of Windows ADK. The same applies to Macrium Reflect (for example).

But I have found that PE media boots faster and is less prone to minor issues. The interface doesn't look any different. RE supports Wi-Fi, but I've never needed it. If you've been using RE and happy with it, then stick with it. They both work well.
