This is my system usage the memory usage is so high. I am using windows 11 pro version dev (22557.1) ni_release.

If, as in your specs, you only have 4GB of RAM installed... then the RAM usage is about right.
You could open a few less tabs in Brave to lower that RAM usage.

My system uses about 3.1 to 3.4GB of RAM on Win 11 and on Win 10.

3.1 divided by 4.0 = .77 or 77%
3.4 divided by 4.0 = .85 or 85%

I do not think this is the issue. Windows 10/11 can run in less than 1 GB (alrhough spec is min 2 GB). It can adjust the memory use and use pagefiling etc.

I think it is more likely related to browser issues. First thing op should try is boot in safe mode and see if memory usage is reduced.

I saw that but something seems to be glitching - could be a memory leak. Obvious thing to do is try a different browser.

Like I said above, my system uses about 3.1 to 3.4GB of RAM, and I only "use" my system a very small amount.

I remember when Windows 95 first came out, it had a recommended minimum RAM requirement of 4 Mb, but many users found performance issues and that 8 Mb was really needed. Roll forward 27 years and multiply those numbers by 1024 .....

My Windows 95 PC did indeed have 8 Mb of RAM - and a 1 Gb hard drive.

My first computer in '92 was an AMD 80386/40MHz with 4MB RAM and 120MB HDD, first upgrade was to 8MB RAM because of WordPerfect for Windows 5.1 hitting a memory limit at about 8 pages of text. I have a few computers with more than the minimums such as Notebooks at 8GB [their maximum] and Desktops at 16GB, all work good.

That seems high - I idle around 2.2 GB on my 4GB laptop.

As long as the OS frees up memory that is in use when another app comes along and needs it, is there a problem?

I mean, you paid for X amount of RAM in your system. And RAM is faster than your HDD, SSD and NVMe...so why would you want to use it as little as possible?

In the ideal condition also the memory usage is high

Guys i have installed advanced system care 15 pro. Now my system ram usage decreased. I think memory leakage is there but i can't figure out where it happening. If i uninstall the system care the memory usage gone increase rapidly. I don't know what to do actually.

Thank you guys. The problem was the memory leak after the use of system care. i just try to uninstall it and see how memory usage. The memory usage become stable and now the system is running in normal condition. I think the memory leak issue is resolved.

Im about 5gb idle and around 7 or so when using browser and maybe a few other smaller things :) 4gb of ram in 2022 though isn't gonna get far.
my 16gb used to be more than enough, theres a few times i coulda done with more.

If I was trying to run a modern OS on 4 gb of ram (which I would never do) I would be concentrating on making it mean and lean. Uninstalling unnecessary unused apps, disabling unnecessary startup apps, making certain services as manual rather than auto start. With 4 gb ram, every little bit your free up matters. I would just be as concerned about disk use being at 100%.
