The undervolting is probably the cause of your problems. That or all the unlisted devices you have plugged in.
If the CPU gets too hot it will automatically throttle, so you don't really need to undervolt.
If your temps are out of hand... try a better CPU cooler (?), and/or better case (?).

Try setting the BIOS to defaults, and unplugging everything but the bare minimum of devices.
Then leave the BIOS alone... and add devices until you find the cause of the problem.

It could also have something to do with the vid card driver. AMD vid cards have more driver issues than Nvidia seems to.




In case you haven't tried it yet... DDU works wonders when installing new vid card drivers.
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller... gets rid of all the leftover driver junk from previous driver updates.
That leftover junk can cause vid card driver problems also.

DDU Instructions - AMD
1. Get this program, here: Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) | Wagnardsoft ...get the latest version, and save it to your desktop.
2. Get your vid card driver here, use the Manual Search: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download ...save this to your desktop.
Unhook the internet completely.
3. Reboot into Safe Mode and run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) choose the "Highly Recommend Option", and just do what it tells you.
4. After it's done, reboot to normal mode, then just double click the AMD driver to install. If it want's to reboot, let it.
Rehook the internet.











Another useful tool is Winaero Tweaker ...especially it's block driver updates item...




Many times, there will be a driver update included in the Windows Update. This causes driver corruption occasionally.
Blocking driver updates included with Windows Updates, will take care of that possibility.

If you don't want to use Winaero tweaker, you can also block driver updates include in WU... manually via the registry...
This works in Windows 11 as well...

1. Set BIOS to defaults.
2. Unplug all external weird things from your comp.
3. Try with just one monitor hooked up.
4. Redo vid card driver using DDU

If, at this point the problem is gone... make a fresh backup.
Then add things one at a time, making a new backup occasionally, to see IF the problem returns.

Note: There have also been times when another drive will cause problems with the Windows drive.
So testing with just the Windows drive attached is also a good idea.

You're right. He needs to get back to basics. I've read this thread a few times, and I'm still not sure of the complete situation.
So, simplifying things will eliminate any possible problems.

Here is an example of how easy it is to be thrown off the track when trying to diagnose a problem on a computer.

Identifying the problem is usually the hard bit. Fixing it is usually the easy bit.
If you read through that thread, you might not guess what the eventual problem was.

It's a pity you don't have any system images or a recovery partition.
That would exclude Windows system issues or malware. I would even try a system restore if that was all I had.

Your Radeon RX 5500 XT video card is an AMD card.






In step #1, (post #22), instead of setting the BIOS to defaults... just set the CPU voltage back to auto. Undo the undervolting.
Too much voltage causes heat. Too little voltage causes instability.
These modern BIOSes do a pretty good job of regulating the CPU voltage when set to Auto.


Things you might have to set manually in the BIOS...

1. Fan curves. Finding the sweet spot between cooling and noise.
2. Secure Boot
3. TPM (PTT for Intel)
4. Sometimes.... you may have to manually set the RAM frequency, timings and voltage. Usually you don't.
5. You may have to mess around with boot priority. Usually you don't.

For the rest... just leave it alone if you're having weird issues.
Especially things like undervolting, or overclocking. Both can cause instability.

Have you ever considered that undervolting may be the cause of your problems? You might try setting everything to defaults to see if that works better.

How hot is your computer getting that you are worrying about heat? If it is getting hotter than it should, you should solve that by more conventional means.

BTW, the only reason I have ever known people to undervolt is when they are overclocking their system. Even if they do they would never leave it that way if the computer became unstable.

I'm on the road to recovery :). Okay, as I write this, this is what I have done. I have set everything back to default including the BIOS. There is no XMP nothing! I have even set the secure boot back to Other OS. I have deleted all the information on my drives except the boot drive. As we speak, I'm making a recovery drive. The only things that are connected to my motherboard are 2 monitors, but going through the motherboard and NOT video card, and 1 USB drive.
Two Questions:
#1: Who on this board is outstanding with doing the secure boot in Windows 11 Pro (ASUS)?
#2: Is that DDU Free?

DDU is free.
Just set Secure Boot to Windows UEFI Mode

Try it without XMP the first time... but you can probably enable XMP afterwards.
90% of the time XMP works fine. Only rarely do you need to manually set the RAM freq., timings and voltage.

Well, Ghot and all, still no luck! I did what you ask Ghot and still no luck . I tried it both ways, but there has to be more to the secure boot thing. I read someplace that I had to redo my BIOS, do a clean install of Windows, and then secure boot should work with no problems. Is this a possibility? I was thinking just for kicks, that I have an I7-9700k sitting right next to my I9. My I7 boots right into windows every time. TO bad I can't take an image of it and put it inside my I9. (LOL). Don't worry I'm not going to do that. Anyway, I'm out of thinking power on this one which is for sure.

These are the directions for flashing your BIOS...

Before BIOS update, please download Intel ME update tool from ASUS support site, and update ME firmware to Version 15.0.42.2235 to ensure optimized system settings.

Before running the USB BIOS Flashback tool, please rename the BIOS file (SZ590E.CAP) using BIOSRenamer.

Remark: Please note this version does NOT allow rolling back to the previous version, except via USB BIOS FlashBack™."

These are the directions in your motherboard manual, for flashing (updating the BIOS)...
"Rename" the BIOS file as mentioned above, then do this...








When you've done these things, then make sure that TPM (PTT for Intel) is enabled.
Make sure Secure Boot is set to Windows UEFI Mode.

Then try to do a clean install of Windows 11.

Make sure the drive you intend to install Windows 11 on is GPT.


Open a command prompt as admin and type these things...





If the disk you want to install Windows on is GPT... there will be an asterisk in the GPT column.





Before you do a clean install... you should wait to see what @zbook has to say about this.

Like @Ghot said wait to see, @zbook will have a look at memory dump files and give you suggestions.

Does zbook have the magical key to make all things work? (LOL). Okay, as I would love to see this dump file as well and see what in the heck has been causing all this trouble myself. But I will wait before breaking this PC down and instead of cleaning it, tossing it out the window into the trash can. As you mention Ghot, I did all that yesterday and to no avail.

I did a fresh install following your directions, and my computer was/is having a hard time checking for updates. The little circle spins and then stops and then spins again and stops. My mouse doesn't move either. I waited for about 2 mins and then turn off the power and then waited 1 min and then turn it back on. When I turn it back on the BOIS does what it's supposed to do, but when you get (I do) Republic of Gamers sign, the little spinning circle starts and then slows down, and then stops, and then tries to start again, stops, starts again and then stops. This goes on for about 2 mins. Question, could this be a PSU problem? Anyway getting back to my log, then the little spinning circle comes to a complete stop. After that, I rebooted the machine. This time the machine decides to redo the complete installation. This time I made it all the way through. Wow! So far I got to the point of installing Armoury Crate. After I install the drivers for the system, I will put in the Intel MEI driver, power off the computer, and then see if she reboots. If she does reboots safely, then I guess everything is okay. If not then I will leave it alone until zbook sends me a message on how to get the dump files to him. But I need help in finding files.

2) Create a bootable Memtest86 flash drive > run the free four pass test > take pictures > post images or share links into this thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive


Memtest86 has a feature to create text / html reports.

If possible, please include the reports with the images in the share links



3) If the above hardware tests display fail then replace the applicable hardware

4) If the above hardware tests display pass then create a bootable Ubuntu flash drive


5) See if there are or are no problems using another operating system

Hey zbook - I ran the memtest and the seatools and those system passed with flying colors. I also tested my processor as it passed as well. I will do the BSOD either tonight or sometime tomorrow. Hey Ghost I had asked you a question above, but again, Under Secure Boot is set to Windows UEFI Mode, there is something else under it.
