It has the specs, hardware and ports I want:


I don't have a Dell service tag yet because I don't have it yet. But I want to be able to download all the drivers for it. So I go to the Dell site and I enter in Optiplex 7010 and it says End of Life. I don't see how that can be because Newegg says date first available was Feb. 6, 2025.

Then again, if it comes with Windows 11, there must be Windows 11 drivers for it.

Don't know what Dell is doing with their site.

It appears that Dell has used the Optiplex 7010 name for a 2012 model, and a 2023 model. The 2012 one would be EOL.

That's a bit bizarre.

Yes, if the computer comes with Windows 11 Pro (and it does), then there has to be Windows 11 drivers for it.

The only downside I saw is no USB-C port shown on the images but USB 3 to USB-C adapters could be used.

Where is this Plus coming from? There is no Plus on Newegg's site. I could always call Dell.

The Dell Vostro 3910 looks good too.

Yeah, threw me for a loop too. I'm like wait, NewEgg is selling a computer that is almost 15 years old on their website.

i had to google it to see that they released the optiplex 7010 again and confused everyone.

One of the models you listed does not have a DVD drive. The other model you listed comes with a 512 drive, which I think would be big enough.

As far as power goes, I would only be plugging in my printer, mouse, keyboard, external hard drive and possibly a small amp emulator. From what I have seen most all of these come with a 180 watt power supply.

I like the idea of 8 USB Type A ports too. I prefer a DVD burner/drive too. I like 32 GB of RAM and an I5 or better yet an i7.

And I don't know where you find a full size tower. Looks like many are mini-towers.

If you have other ones I could look at I will take a look.

The Optiplex 7010 he linked has a 1TB SSD whereas both the Vostro 3030 and the Optiplex 7020 you linked only have a 512GB SSD so that helps to explain the $60 price difference. Also, the Vostro 3080 doesn't have a DVD drive.

The Intel Core i5-12400 is a bit of a slowpoke by today's standards IMO. If you can stretch your budget by $110 you can get an Optiplex 7020 with a faster CPU [that has an 80 percent higher PassMark CPU Mark score]. It's this:

One thing to watch for in a new Desktop computer is many won't have the VGA port for a monitor but will have one or two DisplayPorts or HDMI ports. Adapters from a VGA monitor to DP or HDMI are available. If needing a second monitor but no port there's USB adapters to provide a second DP or HDMI.
