To go back to the question. If you have one good AV running then MWB free is absolutely fine. It just sits there - run manual scans if you have an issue. Turn off automatic updates and other such things or it can be a resource hog these days. As others have said, I'm not entirely sure it's necessary these days, on Windows 10 and 11. On Windows 7 it would regularly find PUPS etc.
That would depend on what is considered a lifetime for the program. Is it the lifetime of the program, lifetime updates for that version, lifetime of the device it was originally installed on or a set number of years? I have one program that I know for sure is a lifetime license for only the original computer it was installed on.I guess that’s what the term ‘lifetime’ means

In this context, lifetime means forever (whatever 'forever' means). Your lifetime license isn't tied to one machine, but it can only be used on one machine at a time. If you get a new machine, you can move MBAM by deactivating the license on one machine and activating it on another (Settings->Account->Deactivate). I've done this a few times; never a problem.
I don't know if it was ever deactivated or not. I do know I no longer have the computer I installed it on back in 2015. I even forgot I had purchased a lifetime license.
If you were able to activate it there's nothing to worry about. Perhaps it deactivated itself because it hadn't been used for a while. In any case, if you ever decide to move it again, just deactivate and reactivate.
If I'm not mistaken the license should have been on my old, old desktop and should be on my now old desktop because I replaced the HDD with the SSD from the older computer that died. Malwarebytes isn't installed on it so it's possible I uninstalled it with the other programs I uninstalled with the thought of installing it on the new computer but forgot too. I did uninstall a lot of programs so I could move them. Malwarebytes is now activated on my new desktop with a lifetime license, and I saved money.
Their website has a subscriptions page where you can maintain your licenses/devices.... You might need to register though...
The computer info is registered. Now if I ever need to move the software I can login and deactivate this computer.

Not sure how many know but you can use mbam pro key three times before it freaks out.
When it freaks out, If you do not have a my.malwarebytes.com account you will have to provide support with a reference number for your purchase or proof of purchase. Just having a key is not enough for support to reset the key for you.
