I, for one, had lost sight of it.

I just tried it [in Windows 10] and managed to get the cascading menus you illustrated.
I couldn't get it to appear quite like yours - shown directly on the Desktop without any File explorer window. I'll have to figure that bit out.
It's nice to know that this solution will work in Windows 11.

Thank you very much for that kindness. Unfortunately, I have no TLB in my All Users Programs folder, even in an old MR Image I checked into. I'm afraid the only way for me to get it all back would be to re-install TLB. I'm going to wait until after Tuesday's big "Reveal" to do anything like that.

Sometimes my trimming shears get a little carried away on Windows. They get rid of a lot of garbage, but occasionally, they snip off the nose of a face I admire.

I did not know about QTTabBar version 2048 Beta 2.

Apologies if it's already been posted, but using this GitHub - valinet/ExplorerPatcher: This project aims to bring back a productive working environment on Windows 11. then allows TLB to be installed and used as normal - like everyone esle, it was a huge pain to lose, so I'm pleased to say its back and working again (well, I've jsut installed it and its showing up, so will test more.. but looks promising)

Looks VERY promising! Thank you for this notice.

For the moment, I'm going to try out the same author's GitHub - ChrisAnd1998/TaskbarX: Center Windows taskbar icons with a variety of animations and options. and see what happens. Gotta make an image first, though.

Welcome to the forum.

I hope you'll come back and post results. A whole bunch of us on elevenforum are interested in the possibility of running TLB on 11, and mostly just waiting to see whether MS will re-enable taskbar toolbars without third-party tools. I really dislike having to use third-party software to make it possible to use third-party software, if you know what I mean.

I'm sure MS is fully aware that the Taskbar is a major issue that needs work, and where they'll go with it nobody knows just now.

I have used the workaround and put my taskbar on top. then,
Although it's not perfect, I just pin what I use most to the taskbar.

Yeah, I'm finding that I can get by pretty well with a careful selection of additions to the Start menu page of icons, a selection of pinned icons on the Taskbar, and a few Quick access shortcuts in the File Explorer icon. I am even finding that the clipboard history (Win V) thingy, used with IrfanView, for screenshots compares reasonably with my wonderful TLB Clipboard Manager. I use Snick&Snatch to take the shot, then open IView and click in the window (clip history pastes the shot), and then Save, and it's done. We find ways to replace ways, with time.

The older I grow, the more open I seem to be to new ways. Odd, eh?

I was writing the post above when my whole computer froze to death and wouldn't move! I was going to post the link to Brink's workaround for moving our taskbar around the screen. Change Taskbar Location on Screen in Windows 11

And also my taskbar with my apps added on top. Of course, I'm limited to the number of apps I can pin, but I can live with that.

I'm not used to posting pics, so I'm not sure what's going to happen when I post my reply. There's some stuff at the bottom of my screen I'm not sure of.

Just ignore that stuff. It's an artifact of the new site software system. I'm not sure that I remember this correctly, but I think I discovered that if you click anything in that "stuff," you'll either delete or duplicate your successfully posted image. Notto goodo.

Yea it works great.. I haven't tested extensively, but it loaded up my backed up config and all seems to be ok. I needed to adjust the text position a little, but nothing major.

You mean you started the program from taskbar right-click settings and then used a TLB backup to populate the bar?

I tried valinet/ExplorerPatcher but my AV blocked it. Anyone else successful and does it allow TLB again?

Correct.. it works the same way it did with Win10.

Used Winaero Tweaker to restore Classic Taskbar. Then added TLB back by right-clicking on Taskbar. Followed the instructions at:

How to Restore Classic Start Menu in Windows 11 with Classic Taskbar

You can restore the classic Start menu in Windows 11, which will be similar to the good old Windows 10's Start with the app list. Windows 11 introduced an

to add back Clock and some other things. Replaced Start button with Start11. All pretty much back the way it was before. The only minor issue is that Win-X menu is gone.
