I suppose they needed something to replace Wordpad.

Personally I just want Notepad to be Norepad, so this helps. Thanks again.

You can disable this option with a powershell script and run on multiple machines.
Just use part of the website script below.

Whenever you run these scripts, the App (Notepad) cannot be running. Otherwise it will lock settings.dat from updating.

Yes. That's why it's best to run it on user login.

You don't have to run it at user logon, just any time the App isn't running. That's because the UWP security model locks files in the app's "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages folder as a protection feature.
