This is expected behavior, when a third party AV is installed on your pc.

Everything is fine.

If you wish, you could tell Microsoft Defender to stop doing periodic scans although they do no harm

Go to Windows Settings, Privacy and Security, Windows Security, Virus and Threat Protection then scroll to the bottom and click on Microsoft Defender Antivirus Options

and turn the slider to 'Off'.

In this image the first mention of periodic scanning is a brighter/more bold print and may or may not be clickable whiled the 3 lines below it are simply an explanation of the first line.

For some antivirus programs this is correct. Bitdefender won't install if you have other antivirus programs but Windows Defender is OK, but Defender won't give its full protection if you use a third-party antivirus.
