two accounts with the same user names

when my laptop boots. there are two accounts with the same user names. should one username account be deleted? which is an administrator and which is not. if one can use his PC with an administrative rights account, why should a user account with non-administrative rights waste useful storage and resources be there.?

Since the two accounts have the same name, it would appear that you may have used netplwiz like in option one below to automatically sign in to your account, and may have changed your password or computer name afterwards causing netplwiz to no longer be able to auto sign in and show the account twice like that.

If this is the case, then you would just need to set up netplwiz again to update it.
