UEFI password at startup

I have several Windows 11 computers, and I have set administrator UEFI passwords for two of these. On one computer (25H2), the password is required at every startup, and the other one (also 25H2) only asks for the UEFI password to enter the UEFI. I would like both computers to require the UEFI administrator password at all startups - how do I enable this ?

So, the requirement for a UEFI password at all startups is a function of the motherboard, not Windows 11 ?

Yes. The BIOS password needs to be set.... IN the BIOS.


For my motherboard, it looks like this in the BIOS...

You have to add a user password.

in the security section of my BIOS i have a password set for both
Administrator .. the password is needed to enter the BIOS
User/HDD/Boot .. the password is needed at every boot/restart

that way i need to enter the password to enter the BIOS
and at boot/restart of the system. i use the same password for both.

but this password is set within the security section of my BIOS.
