Windows 11
For the past two months (I'm not sure which update started that) remote desktop connections to my Windows dev machine have completely stopped working. I can see graphics error 0x11 in the client, and "The device Microsoft Remote Display Adapter (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash." in the host. I tried every solution I could find online including using other clients like FreeRDP but nothing made a difference.

The crash is a STATUS_STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN (0xc0000409) inside rdpidd.dll. When a network socket authenticates, the REMOTEDISPLAYENUM software bus dynamically spawns a virtual adapter (SESSIONID_0004).

You are not referencing any version or build in your post regarding the systems used.
Are you trying to connect to a system on build 26340.9233 ?
If so, I have no issue connecting to Dev from Beta or from Dev to Canary.

I know it does not help you but the error seems to indicate that the target system has display issues.

I'm trying to connect to 29648.1000 from Android and MacOS. I have been using Remote Desktop for many years but right after the future platforms update I started having this issue and no update has fixed it so far.

That is the caveat of using an experimental branch version of the OS.

I had issues before that took years to figure out while I was on the stable branch. Ex: Switching to HDR used to disable my audio and/or reduce the resolution.
