Unable to delete file folder

While attempting to install Win 11 and Ubuntu as a DualBoot, I noticed I have a file named "Linux" with a subfolder named "Ubuntu." See attachment. Presumably, this is from the incomplete Ubuntu install. I'm ready to attempt another install of Ubuntu, so I want to remove anything left from the original install attempts.

Right Clicking on the folder produces a menu with no "delete" option; properties "not available"; and that's about it for options. Some off the files can be deleted by pressing the Delete key, but most report that I need Admin Privileges and refuses to delete. The files do not appear in SafeMode. I tried a COMMAND PROMPT w admin privileges but unsurprisingly, the files are not visible.

I've never had any luck with the "Privileges" in Windows. I think I have the max set, but I am still denied performing certain operations ...

Any help is of course GREATLY appreciated.

Tom

What you have is an installation of Windows Subsystem for Linux with Ubuntu.
Go to Settings/Apps/installed Apps and uninstall from there. (screenshots below)
This is not a failed installation, it is a headless version of Ubuntu, so no GUI, -only the terminal-.
If you want Ubuntu GNU-Linux, you can get it via HyperV and run it as a VM.

The dual boot is another option but requires some care while installing.

Thanks OAT.

The Ubuntu folder is gone, but the now empty Linux folder is still there. It won't hurt anything, but I'd like to get rid of it.

Did you uninstall the Windows Subsystem for Linux as per screenshots above?
Ubuntu alone is not enough.
Please restart your system when done.

I only had the Windows Subsystems for Linux files - none of the other that you showed. I know what all the remaining installed apps are, and none could be any kind of Linux.

I did reboot the computer afterwards.

I went thru the uninstall/reinstall, you need to unclick as below:

So, you are done. The above screenshots included showed other unrelated Apps, that should have been obvious. Sorry if it was not.
Best of luck.
