Same here Windows.old was gone in few seconds

I upgraded to 22H2. WIndows.old isn't appearing in diskclean up. I tried manually to clean it. But I wasn't permitted. In my case Windows.old is HUGE.

When I get issues deleting stubborn stuff, I boot into Macrium Reflect (either usb or from boot option) , select its explorer in bottom left hand corner, navigate to item (file or folder) and delete it.
