This tutorial will show you how to uninstall AI components on your Windows 11 PC.
If your Windows 11 device (ex: Copilot+ PC) has a NPU, you will have a System > AI components page in Settings.
AI components are used on Copilot+ PCs and enable AI models to run locally, directly on the device.
Starting with Windows 11 build 26300.8553 (Experimental 25H2) for Insiders, Microsoft has made undocumented updates to AI components settings to include new subpages with more detailed information about models and an uninstall button for at least "AI Phi Silica" so far.
Reference:
You must be signed in as an administrator to uninstall AI components.
Here's How:
1 Open Settings (Win+I).
2 Click/tap on System on the left side, and click/tap on AI components on the right side. (see screenshot below)
3 Click/tap on the AI component (ex: "AI Phi Silica") you want to uninstall. (see screenshot below)
4 Click/tap on the Uninstall button if supported. (see screenshot below)
5 Click/tap on OK. (see screenshot below)
6 Restart the computer to apply.
That's it,
Shawn Brink
