update manager question

win ver 22h2 getting 23h2 now but i have a question. i have a hearing aid fitting program on my laptop and i need to figure out how to get the update manager to work. so that program can get updates. i fails on both win10 and win11. the update manager may be part of that program but it is always telling me the server is down or my pc has a firewall that will not let that update manager work. so is there a way around this in windows or do you believe it is the fitting programs internal update manager that is failing? thanks

Do you have any other program that automatically updates that you know works?
Is there any news on the programs website?
If you manually download an update (if there is one) perhaps they are aware of the problem and have patched it?

What is the name of the program, and what version does your program say it is. It should be in the “about” section somewhere in the program.

thanks i just did some more checking and it now looks like this is part of the signis fitting program and not actually part of windows. when i exited the signia fitting program that update manager was gone and when i clicked on it it opened in a new window. so for now i think it is not really a part of windows. thanks

So do you need more help, do you want to share the name of the actual program?
Windows doesn’t update software through “Windows Update” programs need to do that or the user needs to update themselves, manually.

Can I suggest you investigate where their support page and downloads are? Or share the name and I’ll try to help.

ok this is the signia connexx hearing aid fitting program. and for now i'm thinking i have figured it out. if it turns out it still fails to do an update in a month or so i will stop back. thanks.

It seems to be a loop of information and no support or downloads in sight less videos and documentation.
I have a feeling you have to consult your hearing specialist.
I haven’t got much to go on.

Many people asking where to download the latest version. I am guessing you are on a version 8? There is a version 9.9 which people have been asking for links to but nobody wants to share the link openly. There is also a cost involved.

This is why I suggest you talk to your hearing specialist, it all seems either secretive or incompetent regarding user support..

There is some kind of an aide forum, for what it is worth, where people have asked this question.

i have 9.11.15.782 it turns out that is the latest version so far. i did not see that at first, then all of a sudden it showed up in the update manager. there is a link on the hearing aid forums. link Hearing Aid Talk ask for pvc and he will get them the links to a bunch of fitting programs

thanks for the help. even though it may have been already figured out. anyway if you come across anyone looking for hearing aid fitting programs let them know about that site. they register and then go to the community and ask for a poster called pvc. he gets lots of people the different fitting programs. i believe he is an audi and helps people do ther own fittings. some people live in areas where they have no audis and he helps them do there own. again thanks
