Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (OS Build 22631.4169) Desktop (OS Build 22621.4317)
I am running a version of Windows 11 on unsupported hardware and I updated a security update this morning and then it gave me an option to download and update a cumulative update - KB5010795 and I got an error message (0xca00a009) that they could not install this update on my machine and that I could try again. However, I have tried again but still, the same message so is this the end of my trial version of Windows 11? if so I shall swap out the drive and go back to my Windows 10 drive.
Any advice really appreciated as I was just getting used to Windows 11.:(

This out of band optional update appears to have an urgent fix for IPSEC issues in VPNs, apart from that there's not much new in it.

All my machines, supported devices or not, have been offered it. As the issue doesn't affect me I hadn't bothered to install it. But for you, I have just tested installing it on my very much below spec System Two with its 1st gen i5. Not the fastest of updates, but installed successfully.

Whatever your problems are, being an unsupported device is not one of them. I too have my original W10 HDD ready to swap back in at a moments notice, it appears not to be needed yet ;)

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

There's a description of the update here: kb5010795

It includes a link to an installer, if you'd prefer to do it offline.
