New OS installations should not have BSOD unless there is malfunctioning hardware (except rare problems with BIOS).

I haven't installed the OS recently except when I first got the laptop around Jan 2024. Is this causing Windows updates not installing and/or lack of other partitions? Please see attached:

Time can be spent uninstalling AV, addressing drive partitions, troubleshooting log files, attempting updates, etc.

The most efficient method is to clean install the 35 day installation.

At the time of sale the laptop manufacturer is responsible for:

hardware
drivers
applications
operating system
etc.

New laptops should be trouble free.

They should not have BSOD.

It's best to contact MSI for Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).

This laptop also reported WHEA corrected hardware errors:

Was there a time frame on those BSODs?

I will look into clean installing before RMA as it's not unuseable at the moment as I am using it now just Windows Updates are failing.

Will clean install auto create new partitions required and which is recommended route to clean install ie via USB or Settings/Recovery/Reset this PC etc and can I keep my data?

It's best to RMA and start with a trouble-free laptop.

A clean install will create the four default partitions (one is hidden) and requires the installation of new drivers.

If there are no problems in the log files after one week then continue using the laptop and reevaluate before the warranty expires.

If there are problems after the clean install then request a RMA.
