Solved USB-C multi strip is not working like it is intended anymore ?

My dad bought this a few months to get around that my Lenovo Yoga 7 has only 1 usb port but today Windows 11 home edition thinks my usb strip and SD Card reader thinks it just a audio headset device and it turns off my audio instead. I never touched it for weeks after a few uses when it was normal.

How do i fix this identity crisis ?

You probably need a new one?
It looks like your laptop has a USB-A and a USB-C port?

Why do you have a USB strip with TWO inputs? Are you plugging in both at the same time?
USB-A and USB-C are drastically different speeds.

It's a USB-C for power cables (and reader) and classic USB port laptop

The cable has USB-C sleeve which did work fine. If i use the either USB-C ports on my left hand side it also thinks it is a Dolby Headset equipment and my laptop has 2 usb-c ports.

Is there a USB troubleshooting tool program or something ?

I don't know.
What are you trying to accomplish?
How many ports of what type do you need?

I think you're probably having a hardware issue, rather than a software issue.
Like, maybe that USB splitter is funky.

Check some of these out.... USB Splitters ...or These



If you still think it's a software issue... try a Repair Install with an In-Place Upgrade...

I remember a old cable that had a Audio jack and a the other fitted in a power slot on the top of my old original model green game boy.
If both were in it on both ends it would disable audio similar to this.

Actually i never knew better about things while i was around 6 to 12 years old during 1995 and 2001 and that cable was a oddity in my dads collection of things or i don't know if it would turn off the game boy too. That was ages ago.

From your photo, toward the right side, do I see an audio output jack on that hub? It's a little fuzzy in the photo, but that is what it looks like. If so, then what you are seeing is normal. Go into your sound settings and you should see multiple options. Change the selected audio output to your internal audio. I'll bet that the USB hub is what is currently selected when the hub is plugged in.

In other words, when you plug in that hub, because it also has audio output capabilities, Windows is switching the audio to that device.

I found the problem it just has to be set to the speakers listed here. I just never saw it before. I even unplugged it and resumed a youtube video and the device stayed and did not switch outputs and the USB function works too.
