Hi guys... I have a problem with my wired mouse and USB port its connected to. After about 5 minutes, I get an error message stating the USB isn't recognized. I then have to go to device manager and uninstall the USB under the 'Universal Serial Bus Controller'. I then have to unplug then replug my mouse into the USB port. My mouse then finally works again.

But the problem occurs all the time and its annoying having to go through this same song and dance. How do I fix this?

...

See disabling "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" from Power Management will help also try different USB port.

What happens with other devices in the same USB port - a wired -keyboard, USB flash drive, etc?

No computer device details ... laptop or desktop?? If a desktop, same with rear ports as with front ports?

Has the problem just started to happen? Is this a new/different mouse?

You did not fill in any of your computer specs in your profile?
so we don't know the Make, Model # of your computer or motherboard.
You can go to the manufacturers download drivers section and download the Chipset driver (USB Support) for your model and reinstall that.

As stated, have you tried other devices in this USB Port? Also, have you tried a different USB Wired mouse?

Hi.. So its an MSI mobo on PC. Tried plugging in other ports but same issue. So you suggest I reinstall the chipset driver?

In the Start search menu type device and open device manager. Plug your mouse into a USB and check for errors by opening every occurence of USB. Are their any errors? Look for Logitech there may be something wrong with your driver. It's probably old and Microsoft thinks it's not secure....

My problem still continues. I checked on the logitech website and there are no drivers for it, the only drivers for it are supplied by microsoft. What do you suggest?.

You didn't answer a question. Do you have problems with anything else plugged into a USB port? Have you tried another mouse? If its only the mouse then maybe the mouse is faulty.

I would use the Microsoft driver for your mouse if they have one. There's a good chance that it's certified by Microsoft and will work for a few more years.

Hi.. excuse the late response. So here's the Reliability History report. The warning it gave on 6/14 is for the following:
"Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80073D02: 9N3RK8ZV2ZR8-Microsoft.WidgetsPlatformRuntime."

2 other issues on the Reliability History report on 6/6 are:
"Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80073D02: 9PC1H9VN18CM-Microsoft.StartExperiencesApp."

"Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80073D02: 9MSSGKG348SP-MicrosoftWindows.Client.WebExperience."

Btw, I ran dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth... But it stops at 63.4%. What do you recommend?

If you have a Restore Point,or Image,or Clone predating the 6th,then try that.
If not then a Repair install might work.

Forgot to ask how long did dism sit on 63.4% ?
Quite often it will sit on a percentage for a long period of time.
