Using Event Viewer to Diagnose Glitch

I rarely shut down our HP AI AIO desktop. Sometimes after a long sleep period (overnight) I awaken the pc to find a small, blue spinning circle on the desktop. This can take up to a few minutes to resolve, during which time I can do nothing. Is this normal? How can I use the Event Viewer to see what happened when it locked up? Specifically, where in the Event Viewer should I be looking?

I am trying out
Log - System
EventSource - Kernel-Processor-Power (Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Processor-Power)
EventID - 35
But I have not had any lockups since setting up this EventViewer CustomView so cannot be sure if it is a useful place to look or not.

Perhaps a better choice for an initial investigation that you're doing soon after a glitch would be looking in Event viewer's built-in Custom view Administrative Events because you can click on its Date-Time column to set everything in chronological order.

And there is every possibility that EventViewer does not record any events during your glitch.

Best of luck,
Denis
