I use Kaspersky Premium which has built in VPN. I never used it because when I tried it my daughter complained that she could not access something. But a couple of days ago, I started it off again and carefully went through settings etc. Its been running for 3 days now without a problem. I wont tell you where I am virtually in, in the world, but no diff on speed anywhere.

As long as you and anyone else who uses it are satisfied, that's all that matters.

I've been called out here (you know who you are, ;-))for my feelings about Kapersky no matter how good it is or what kind of reputation it has. But right now, in this day and time, I would not trust them having access to my machine. My distrust is not in any way related to anyone from the USSR or is it directed at Kapersky, per se. It's just too easy for state players to interfere and a security company dealing with people all over the world would be a prime target. Whether Kapersky officials agreed to it or not, if the State wanted in, they get in. I can't imagine what kind of havoc could happen if they chose to wreck end users.

So PLEASE, anyone out there who disagrees don't turn this thread into responses to MY post. We all have opinions and make choices we feel are right for us.
I had this opinion long before the US government banned Kapersky services here.

If you just want to tunnel away from your ISP, then the free Cloudflare warp is the best option IMO.

I loaded cloudflare, no software as such just a desktop shortcut which opens nothing. Is that right, do I just leave it along??

You should have a little cloud in your systray by the time that you can click and toggle it on and off.
