Windows 11
I am running windows 11 22H2 and I want to be able to download files from different places and different types of files and have them go to there precious location. Example: .MP4 will go to the "NTO" which stands for "Need To Organize" in the "Video" folder exact location is "C:\Users\"UserName"\Videos\NTO" and there will be a folder for the "Music" with a folder called "NTO" as well. And in images as well as in the "PDF" library.

So here is the question is there a addon for firefox or google chrome that will let me select which file format goes where once downloaded. Or is there a "Batch" file forum where I can go and learn more about "batch" file formats so I can have select file formats go to select locations once there downloaded to the "Downloads" folder without needing to open the folder myself and moving the files one file type at a time.

Any tips or advice would be great thank you!

What you are asking is unlikely. Within Windows or an app or .bat I don't think there is a way as far as I know to direct downloads by file extension to individual folders. It's a cool idea though.

I don't use it, but FDM (Free Download Manager) has add-ons for Firefox & Chrome.

Smart file management and powerful scheduler

With FDM, you can easily organize downloaded files by their type, placing them in predefined folders. A smart scheduler allows you to start and pause downloading files, as well as perform other actions (launch other applications, establish or hang up a connection, etc.) at the set time.

I found a few extensions on "Chrome" but they don't put them in the correct locations. I found an extension called "Download Sorter" what this dose is it allows files by type to be moved to specific folders inside the "Downloads" folder. Example in the "Download Sorter" Options area if you have all Zipped folders go to zipped folder in downloads no matter where you download from it will always go into the "Zipped" folder inside the "Downloads" folder. The same for file types like ".PDF" I decided to make some folders for "Video, Images, Audio, PDF" and each of these folders are also on the "extension" so now at least the "Downloads" folder is a bit less messy. But I would have preferred being able to download them to there select location. So what I decided to do was right click and then select "Show more options" and then left clicked on "Include in library" and then I picked which for which. Example: Audio went into "Music" and then "Images" into "Pictures". Something else I did was once I have the folders linked to the "Libraries" I hide the original folders I just made once I knew the files have been going where there supposed to be going. I can always move the file around later after there renamed and organized.
