Although I have always preferred Samsung phones, I feel the emphasis on AI and flip phones means mid range and basic phones are barely developing now.

Changes to the more budget friendly A series hardly brings anthing of sigificant note. About the only driver to replace an existing A series phone is simply the service periods expire.

To me it seems even the premium S series phones are getting too expensive and Samsung is really only interested in the corporate business market.

As for watches, they are relatively very expensive. Despite all the bells and whistles, its time telling ability is not much different to original casios. To be really useful, you need a separate SIM contract which just costs a lot.

What we really want is a watch SIM card that connects to same ISP accounts as on mobile phone AT NO OR MINIMAL EXTRA COST.

Thus the watch becomes a mini "clone" of your mobile. The key point is you could leave mobile in car or at home and watch would still work. No need to put phone in safe lockers when playing sports for example.

I cannot really see the drivers behind flip phones - too big as a normal phone, too small to be a tablet. Frankly, I think people buy them more as a status symbol rather than a productivity/entertainment tool.

IMO Samsung has become as pretentious and bloated as Apple.
