Hi there
running WD quick scan on this build (I don't have a load of apps etc installed)
WD just stops after requesting a quick scan at about 80% of the way through the process -- I know it's stopped because I left it for 30 mins and nothing's moved.

I can tell anyway because there's no "Disk activity lights" etc etc -- so the whole process has just stopped. .

When working properly Scan goes to completion really quickly !!!!

I did chkdsk, /scannow etc etc plus re-boots --- still the same outcome.

Not sure what this piece of B/S is either : Seems a drastic piece of action to take -- enabling a feature (that never gave you an option in the ist place to choose) you have to re-install Windows !!!!! -- So if I need say some extra feature on my Heating boiler at home I need to rip the whole thing out and re-install a new one or to enable a feature on a car - you have to go back and re-install Engine plus accessories again !!!! -- C'mon Ms what planet are your devs on -- obviously not this one. !!!!!!!

Edit : (Build should be 251.xxx in case anybody is perusing this post before I changed the title / thread name).

Did "repair FS from a Linux USB live distro - File system >repair -- it repairs NTFS as well as FAT 32 for windows of the Windows disk" ( copied to external device , repaired on Linux and restored back again to Windows) and the quick scan now OK -- however the other problem of Smart app control still there -- but I'm not bothered. The Linux repair found 1 "Orphaned chain" which it fixed and after "DD'ing it back to the Windows internal HDD" problem of Scan resolved - not the "Smart app" thing though.

I know we're meant to be in English here but it's obvious enough from the screenshot !!!! and this is a Laptop I'm daily using. !!
