OS
Windows 11 Intel i5 10400 HD630 graphics chip
Running Win11 here 21H2 OS build 22000.556 and just got a webcam Logitech C920S Pro HD and checking on their website states
there is no software for Win11.
Googling around I found this site: Logitech C920s Software, Updates for HD Pro Webcam - , expanding the 920 Software shows a version
of Logitech Capture, 2.08.11 but states its for Win10. Only thing Logitech if offering for Win11 is Ghub. I don't think that will help with 'Capture' for
setting backgrounds on the webcam.

Anyone using capture software with this cam or have any idea if I could use the capture program on win11 anyway.

Thanks in advance,
Jim

I don't own a C920, but a friend of mine does, they said the software download for Windows 10 worked fine.

You shouldn't need software, @TheVisitor. I have the C920 and all I do is plug it into the USB port. It works on Windows 11 just fine.

BTW, I have used mine on Skype and Zoom.

Yes, that's what I want to try and do. I don't use Skype. My friend's group is for now using WebEx. I have been just joining with my
phone, but got this cam to see better LOL.

I can't figure if it's free or paid.

You CAN use Logitech Capture with the C920...

And it will install and work under Windows 11...

BTW, I have to Brio. That said, I can't give an ins and out about Capture as I've only dabbled with it.

Do you use a green screen? I tried to change the background in Zoom for my wife, but it didn't work to good. I was going to buy an inexpensive green screen for her, but she told me she didn't want it.

Ah, kind of like Zoom. That's why we use Skype; it's free for both host and attendee. We took a vote on whether we wanted to chip in and get Zoom, but everyone said Skype works, so why fix it. :-)

Do you use a green screen? I tried to change the background in Zoom for my wife, but it didn't work to good. I was going to buy an inexpensive green screen for her, but she told me she didn't want it.
No, I use my normal dark screen.

Update, I got brave and downloaded Logitech Capture, 2.08.11 from the link I posted above. It installed without issue
and seems to work OK.
Now I have figure out how to use it, but so far I don't see a way to add a background image, so still learning.
thanks to all who have replied.

I can't get Capture to work on 22000.556 I downloaded (from Logitech) an earlier version which proceeded to update bet then demanded a restart as the webcam (C920) was in use then couldn't do anything as folders were not available.
Screenshot capture.jpg The webcam works fine with other software, it will connect but it won't do anything for me with capture.

@Graulges Check to see if you have a 'screenshots' folder in 'This PC>Pictures If so, maybe it's a permissions issue with that folder.
Right-click folder -> Properties->Security tab, System/your user name and Administrators have 'all' permissions checked except 'special'

I'm not an expert just comparing settings.

I don't know if that folder already existed on my system, or if Launcher created it.
Path to the folder is defined in the 'Location tab, of the folder properties:
C:\users\username\pictures\screenshots

No luck I don't have a screenshots or a recordings folder any where in This PC. It's a fresh install of win 11 and I haven't deleted these folders.

Sorry not sure if it was 'native' on my system. I know I did not create the folder. Looking at the folder properties is shows
created on 3/18/2022, trying to remember what changed, it may of been when I got the '920' and tried it out. No idea if the
cam just plugged into the usb port has the ability to 'create folders' on its own or maybe windows noticed a 'new device' and
added it...

@Graulges
I just had another thought, that folder may have been created when I opened the Window Camera app in Win 11.

Theoretically, just plugging in the cam should NOT allow it to create folders, however, plugging the cam in could trigger a software/driver install that could create it. Same with the 'New Device'... shouldn't allow it, but may trigger something else that does.
