What are the SoftwareComponent and Extension drivers?

Do we need them if I don't have the Brand/company drivers installed? Are the drivers from Windows sufficient? Do we need them for the device to work 100%?

I have SteelSeries keyboard

those I know, but I am talking about what they actually do for keyboard for example without the SteelSeries GG software. what would the drivers do just with the drivers without the software? would it make it better than standard USB generic driver or cause issues

A better question; What would removing the drivers do? Nothing.

Edit: meaning there is no benefit to removing them.

Your device must use profiles.
One (or more) profiles are written on the device itself (hardware profiles).
In hardware mode, your device can use backlight effects or macros, polling rate and CPI stored in the device's internal memory.
If you do not need to change these parameters, the proprietary software can be removed (after you've set everything up).
