Not by default, you have to enable it. If he is having those infections, I would suggest enabling them.

I did install Armory Crate a couple of weeks ago to have a look at it but made a Macrium image before hand. I did not like it and reimaged my machine to the earlier backup image. As the Macrium image was before installing Armory Crate there cannot be any trace of Armory Crate...
