What i learned today.

I learned something today if you have a wireless Keyboard and Mouse and you remove the USB devices while system is working, there is a good chance you will lose the commutation between your mouse and keyboard with computer.

Now i don't know about any other system but mine, but i pulled out a USB wireless device, while the system was running and everything came to a stop no mouse no keyboard.

Now i knew all i had to do was reboot system get it shut down, problem was without a mouse you can't shut my system down, the battery is inside computer so unless i would take computer apart "no way"some how i had to get the mouse working.

Good thing Logitect incloudes a cable for the charging of their G703 Mouse so you can also plug it into a USB port and use it non wireless.

Now i could shut computer down then restart it up and everything again is working like before i messed it up.

I think you'll avoid all the hassle if you just turn OFF the mouse before you unplug the dongle. For various reasons, I've recently had to switch the mouse on my main box with the mouse on my test box, and there's no problem: turn off, pull dongle, plug new dongle, turn on. Done.

I just did a dumb thing had just bought the new keyboard and mouse had it working right out of the box, but could not resist messing with things. who was it that said children do learn?

? i’m confused, what did you think would happen when you removed the USB dongle that is responsible for communicating with your peripherals?
And doesn’t your computer case have a restart button?

We all do these things. Making mistakes is part of the learning process. The trick, in my case, is not to make the same mistake twice.

Were you trying to see if Windows would connect without the dongle? Are they logitech?

My guess would be that he just wanted to try another USB port; not the one he used initially. But it's not so simple as just pulling out the working (live) dongle and putting it into another port. Ya gotta turn off the connection first. And he said it was Logitech in #1 -- slightly misspelled, but Logitech.

Yes i thought it would again recognize them again when i plugged them in the first time it did, yes their Logitech mouse and Board.

I’m using my MX Masters 3s without the dongle, never plugged it in. My G502 has a cord hardwired. But the keyboard may be the issue? Which one is it? G703 looks cool

With my Logitech K800 Wireless Illluminated keyboard I don't have this problem. According to Logitech the Unifying receiver dongle has to be plugged in via the extension cord that comes included with this keyboard, not some other extension cord. I use a 100 watts powered aluminum 16-port USB3 hub from RSHTECH (the brand is called Rosonway if you live in the US) between my laptop and the cord. My mouse is a Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury (optical corded) and that I use with a standard extension cord that is plugged directly into my laptop. (The wake-on-mouseclick feature doesn't work if I plug it into the hub.) The fact that this mouse isn't a wireless one doesn't bother me at all. Only the keyboard has got to be wireless, as I use it on my lap and I move it around like maybe 100 times per day. I actually own two of 'em. lol There simply is no other keyboard that you can comfortably grab/hold with just a single hand and not fall victim to accidental keypresses the whole time.

With the G703 the button in front of the scroll wheel requires you to retract your index finger in such a way that something simply doesn't feel right, as this certainly isn't going to help if fast reflexes in gaming are the goal, which is what their marketing clearly suggests. The G402 has two more buttons than the G703, and all of its buttons are comfortable to reach with your index finger and thumb. The shape of the G402 is also more ergonomical IMO. I bought it several years ago to replace my old Logitech MX518 Black Panther (the best gaming mouse ever made, hands down... but I don't play games anymore nowadays).

UPDATE 11/09/2023

But i have decided it is not the mouse&keyboard that i require my older Logitech "hope i spelled it "RIGHT" for all the forums spelling teachers" works better then the new Light Speed mouse&keyboard.
So it's back to best Buy.

Both the Logitech G915 Keyboard and the G703 Mouse were returned giving back $249 US, then i bought the Logitech MK 540 Advanced Combo Keyboard and Mouse wireless $49 US.

Now i have what i really needed the other Logitech Board and Mouse were just overkill for my needs.

Now forum members be sure to check my spelling and report any mistakes.

You know i was just trying to make a big deal of it so to get everyone pointing at me and saying get out a dictionary.
Hope i got dictionary. spelt correctly..
What i hate about this forums software is the AI only giving a time limit on editing.

I believe that is a privilege earned. I think VIP’s have elevated privileges. I don’t think there is anything wrong with that, frustrating, yes, but none the less.
