Alienware are made by Dell. The software is from Dell, your computer manufacturer. The software seems to be a new way to spend your money - question: are you expecting to make software purchases?

There appears to be three Options available to you:

1)
Open the Dell Support program ('Dell SupportAssist').
Select "User Settings", then select the "Alerts" tab, and click "Disable".
That will disable ALL update alerts from Dell which could prevent a more useful update at some point in the future. Alternatively, there are two more choices:

2)
Go ahead and install the Dell Digital Delivery, then disable Dell Digital Delivery in Windows Services. Specifically:
Start Windows Task Manager and select the Startup Apps Tab.
From the Right Pane, search for "Dell Digital Delivery" and right-mouse click it then select "Disable" from the dropdown list.

3)
Or, install the Dell Digital Delivery, then open Windows Services.msc.
Under "name" column, search for Dell.D3.WinSvc or Dell.D4.WinSvc, and Right-mouse click it and select "Stop".

I have a total loathing for any proprietary "support" programs. Other than try to upsell their product, they do no more than is offered through built-in Windows usual diagnostic services. And quite often, they're running in the background sucking up valuable resources that could be used by other programs.

Yes, #2 and #3 both assume that you have allowed the installation of the Dell Digital Delivery first. Check the Task Manager once the installation is complete. If you do not like the idea of installing the S/W, then #1 is the only option.

In the TM I went to: Dell Digital Delivery - and did an End Task. Also ran ADWCleaner. Shall I post the AdwCleaner Log?

Did it find and remove items? Yea attach the log as a file.

If you want them removed task manager is not the place to do so, you need to uninstall them from Settings>Apps>Installed Apps -or- Control Panel>Programs and Features.. I thought you are having uninstall issues no? They are safe to remove. ADWCleaner removes digital delivery as one of its pre-installed detections (the orange ones)

I see it, After a reboot are you still seeing digital delivery services present in your system? If so you can uninstall them like normal programs. No need to stop the services with task manager.

I know you are asking if it is safe to remove, have you tried that and are receiving an error? Is it not present on the uninstall list?

Support Assist (the program you were receiving a notification from) was successfully removed by ADWCleaner, although the log states a reboot is required to complete the process.

Yes, all these pre-installed softwares are available on dells website, they can be downloaded and installed/uninstalled.

SupportAssist is located here to the right of the area you would enter your service tag to get a list of downloads:
Drivers & Downloads | Dell US

For any of the other softwares, once support assist is installed, it will offer to download them for you, or you can type your service tag in (its on a sticker on your machine) manually to get the same list.

Re-Installing them all should clean up the installs so you can remove them easily if you are having removal issues... Im only guessing because you haven't said they are not present in the uninstall list?

Digital Delivery facilitates (re)installation of 3rd party software (e.g., MS Office) purchased directly from Dell. If you've not bought 3rd party software from them, Digital Delivery can be deleted without any ill effect. In general SupportAssist is a horrrible, buggy, non-transaparent, heavy-handed, resource-hogging, poorly-optioned piece of $&(&^*. You can uninstall it using a 3rd party uninstaller (e.g., Revo) if necessary, and use Dell Update instead to see when new drivers are available for your system. The website - even using your service tag - is unreliable, since Dell it is for the general build, and doesn't reflect hardware components Dell may have swapped before sending your system. Ugh!
