So, while playing a game for little more than 10 or 15 minutes, it appears that when I zoom in, a popup window opens, or I reach a certain angle, the screen goes dark. I hear a sound, but it goes away.

Well some progress. The BIOS was the first thing you should do as I said earlier. (and others too) But now? Still not normal behavior. Something is not real solved. Never seen this before (that behavior) Can't assist you with that. Could be some underneath lying issue. Drivers? Keep them up to date. Is important! If at the latest level and still occurring. The next thing you should do: Deinstall the game, clean your registry of unwanted old stuff.. Windows may accept the new circumstances, but your game may not. "It remembers things...." If that didn't solved your case? Do a in-place-instalment. A fresh and virgin Windows engine will help. Update it to the last build with the internal updating engine will get rid of many issues. This In-place-instalment will leave all your personal program and data intact. Make a backup of your saved game before that. Never had to do this before. Never had had an issue with it. Beter to be prepared if things does not remember things....

Make sure it is gone as it may be listed as a ghosted device.
Open device manager then at the top click on "View" then select "Show Hidden Devices".
Now go to Display Adapters and see if it is still listed.

Given the errors you're having with the iGP disabled in the BIOS, it appears you have an issue with your dedicated GPU. What are the temperatures of the GPU while you're playing a game?
